The second home market is very active.

• Southold second home owners are comprised of weekend getaways to families that have been summering on the North Fork for decades. 
• Greenport has seen the largest regentrification in the past few years. As the historic maritime cottages and sea captains homes come onto the market we see a strong trend in new owners purchasing the properties and renovating them for weekend and retirement lifestyles.  Greenport keeps very strong ties to the Manhattan life and energy with small apartments in the city during the week and an adorable weekend home in the country. Transportation with the Hampton Jitney and Long Island Railroad is convenient and cost effective. 
• Cutchogue offers Nassau Point with the rich history of Albert Einstein summering on the water during WW2.  Fleets Neck beach is one of the most desired beach communities for Cutchogue second home owners. They have a spectacular area for kayaking or spending the day on the beach.  No matter where you are located on the North Fork, you are really never more than 10 minutes from a beach.  The North Fork wine region started its roots in Cutchogue with Hargrave Vineyards. Now there is an "agritainment" industry burgeoning with the wineries events all summer, pumpkin picking at the local farm stands and corn mazes for kids and adults alike. 
• Orient is the un-hamptons on the North Fork. Orient second home owners are drawn to the Norman Rockwell appeal of the village.  Orient Yacht Club hosts dinner events weekly on the clubhouse with waterfront seating for incredible sunsets on the bay.  The Oyster Ponds Historical Society hold annual fundraising events each summer with great attendance and entertainment.  It is a very casual and tastefull community.
